Yesterday was a religious holiday in our part of Germany called: "repent and pray day". Since Viola and Elisabeth were at our house, we spontaneously decided to take an excursion to a foreign country! The Czech Rep. is only about 15 km from our house, so we were still in the Erzgebirge mountains, but on the other side of the border. Taking the boardwalk through the Moor was a wonderful way to enjoy the sunshine. Then we visited ski lifts on the Czech side and then the German side (where Willy is riding a wooden wolf). Later we ate lunch in a rustical stone building with a stuffed scottish bull head hanging over our table. I ordered a slavic potato "spätzle" with goat's cheese. After our bible study that evening our friends mentioned how dreary the November days have been, every day cloudy with fog. We saw the cloud blanket covering many towns, which looked fascinating from the mountain above it. Especially the tops of the wind generators turning just above the clouds, as though they were whipping cream! Such a different feeling to see the spectacular view above the dreariness... and all the problems look so small with a different perspective.
